The story begins in the 4th century AD, in the time of the Roman Empire and an inscription in the stone about wine.
Aureus Mons, as Romans called it, or Goldberg, as it was known during the reign of Maria Theresa and still today, is a famous site known for excellent wine and brandies.
For good wine and brandy there’s an old saying: “It’s made on Goldberg!” said Milan.
Unique soil structure, responsible for exceptional aromas, grants great quality to almost anything that grows there.
Milan Šarić, a math professor, and passionate brandy fan started his dream on Goldberg eight years ago. He planted Williams pear, apricot, peach and vine to make brandies. Also, they’re hand-picking rose hip, hawthorn and walnuts to make liqueurs. He built a cellar with pecara (place for distillation) and tasting rooms.
The specialty of Šarić Family Farm is growing pears inside bottles into which they later add Williams brandy (which is rare today).
You can taste their products on Goldberg hill or in Kormoran restaurant, located in Kopački rit Nature Park.
