Sensational! Mundoaka just opened a week or so ago, and yesterday, during my first visit, I saw several well-known chefs, food writers and ordinary celebrities as guests. That must be a good sign. This deli bistro is pretty unique for Zagreb, because it combines small-scale business, top-quality cooking, excellent ingredients, creative flair, very interesting menu and unpretentious but quite ambitious approach. The menu changes daily and reading it will make you drool. Dishes are a fusion of local and international, with various influences. Small selection of wines from Croatia, Italy and France is very clever, and two different brands of artisan craft beer are a living proof that Mundoaka aims at true gourmands, who want only the best, at an affordable price. Gnudi in spicy tomato soup, hoisin pork tenderloin, Sicilian-style pizza and fantastic cakes made me want to come back as soon as possible.
