Štrudla is Croatian for strudel, classic Central European dessert, our culinary heritage from the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Immensely popular in continental Croatia, one of the most common desserts in traditional restaurants. Usually it's made of cheese, apples or sour cherries, sometimes apricots in summer, but you can also find some interesting local varieties, like strudels in Gorski kotar and Lika, where they use wild berries.
